Man United are in talks with ex Barcelona manager ‘Ernesto Valverde’ as temporary manager

Former Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde has allegedly been approached by Manchester United about taking over as temporary manager.
United are looking for a successor to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was fired after Saturday’s 4-1 loss to Watford.
“With a 2-0 victory against Villarreal, Man Utd qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League under interim manager Michael Carrick.“
Mauricio Pochettino has been heavily connected with the job, but he said on Tuesday that he is “happy” at PSG, where he has a deal until 2023. Valverde has already conducted talks with United’s football director John Murtough about taking over on a temporary basis, according to the Guardian, and has already begun scouting players he may sign in January if he is hired.
Valverde has been unemployed since Barcelona fired him in January 2020.
He stayed at the club for two and a half years, winning La Liga twice and the Copa del Rey once. He was the manager of Athletic Bilbao for four years before joining Barca, and he has previously coached Valencia, Villarreal, Espanyol, and Olympiacos.
Furthermore, he is apparently one of five possibilities for the temporary post, but if United can acquire Pochettino from PSG immediately, they will abandon that tactic.
Pochettino’s services are not as easy to come by in the middle of the season, according to the BBC.
With a 2-0 victory against Villarreal, Man Utd qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League under interim manager Michael Carrick.
The visitors won thanks to late goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
“I wouldn’t mind trying it,” Valverde told the Observer earlier this year when asked about the possibility of working in England. You get the impression that there is a mutual appreciation for the game.”
