Comprised of the famous guitarist Dave Navarro, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, and Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, NHC has been active recently, releasing a bunch of tracks, and now their second big music video.
The band announced about the new video on Instagram, stating, “@nhcmusicofficial Lazy Eyes official video is out now!”
The band, which made its debut appearance at the Ohana Festival in September when Eddie Vedder pulled together a number of his musical pals to stand in for Kings of Leon, who had to bail out of the event following a family illness, has since gone on to create headlines.
NHC debuted their first music video for their song “Devil That You Know” last month.
In an interview with Navarro earlier this year, he told American Songwriter about his connection to learning the guitar through listening to albums and his favourite musicians.
“Those recordings were my professors since I didn’t have a guitar teacher, I had those records.
For a number of years, it wasn’t until I got to – my favourite guitar player of all time is David Gilmour, who has a very different technique.
David Gilmour is highly melodic, well-thought-out, and nine times out of ten is playing quite similar to the recorded version in a live environment.
“So, David Gilmour taught me about emotional context and internal contemplation coming out of the instrument in a melodic style that isn’t showy.
But it’s strong in terms of its choice of notes and where they fall.
He’s also the master of playing in a solo—he’ll be playing and literally just pause and wait some breaths and then come back in and wait some breaths, giving small stabs of melodic bits that build this wonderful guitar solo with no feeling of hurry.
But with a feeling of the knowing he has all the time in the world to accomplish what he has to do.”
