Man United loanee Eric Bailly is set to be sidelined for the next few weeks through injury.
Yesterday, we wrote an article detailing Eric Bailly having a stinker for Marseille in Europe, before being substituted with an injury.
The Ivory Coast international, who was quick to take aim at United once he left, was hit with karma in the perfect manner.
Bailly, who accused United of favouring English players, joined Ligue 1 outfit Marseille in search of regular playing time.
Typically, he’s only been there a few weeks and now he’s injured…
We’ve been given more information on the severity of the problem via French media outlet, L’Equipe.
They confirm that the loanee has been dealt a thigh injury blow, that’ll keep him out of action for ‘two to three weeks’. Bailly will now miss Marseille’s next Ligue 1 game this weekend, while also being unavailable for the Ivory Coast during the upcoming international break.
This is just what Bailly is at this point. Sorry, I know that sounds harsh, but he’s never fit. It’s why United refused to trust the ex-Villareal man. It’s why they’ll eventually be proved right to let him go.
I guess the problem for United is that now Marseille know about how Bailly’s body always likes to break down with injury. They’re far less likely to want to sign him on a permanent deal if he’s always picking up these problems that keep him out of action.
At this stage, a move away on a permanent basis is absolutely the best situation for all involved. Sadly, Bailly’s made his own bed with the scathing comments he launched on the club last week. I’m not sure how many friends he’ll have left at the AON Training Complex.
