It’s also been revealed that the aforementioned deal is conditional on the player signing a sports employment contract with Liverpool FC.”
Nunez is expected to sign a six-year deal with the Reds, who will pay Benfica a fixed price of £64.1 million (€75 million), plus £12.8 million (€15 million) in appearance-related add-ons and £8.5 million (€10 million) based on team performance.
That means the Uruguayan international has a chance to shatter the club’s transfer record, which was achieved in January 2018 when Virgil van Dijk signed from Southampton for £75 million.
After Nunez signs his deal, Liverpool will be free to announce their second summer acquisition, after the arrival of Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho.
Bayern Munich is expected to make a third, improved approach for Mane in the coming days, with the Reds holding out for closer to £42.75 million for the Senegalese international.
